"Just what nature intended"

Griff is an enthusiastic gardener with a love of nature and living and eating off the land.
Keen to ensure food is fresh, sustainable, nutritious and local, he also likes to experiment with and use the latest garden innovations.

Griff and partner, Tina bought their lifestyle block in 2013 and built their home whilst Griff began to develop the land into a garden.

Planting olives, citrus, apples, pears, plums and figs in the 1st year along with a vegetable garden to sustain themselves and local family.

Rebel Gardens was established in 2017  and was a fledgling enterprise in those early days. By the end of 2019 the market garden had taken shape.  The humble Jersey Benne potato  was a top seller in the South Wairarapa, over Christmas that year along with courgettes (& their flowers) and Microgreens.

As the garden continues to grow, so do the varieties of Veggies and herbs, which now include:

Coriander | Carrots | Beetroot | Aubergine | Celeriac | Rocket | Salad mix | Peppers | Tomatoes | Garlic | Broccoli

Rebel Gardens supplies many local restaurants and eateries all year round.
From spring through Autumn Rebel Gardens can be found weekly in the Martinborough Square, monthly at the Te Kairanga Farmers Market and Greytown markets.  Keep your eye on social media for more.
